The story of Village Parlor began over six years ago when Ryan was still living and working full time in New York . After 20 years in New York City, he was curious as to next steps in his career . Detroit appeared on the horizon in the summer on 2015, from a casual conversation with a friend - to - signing a lease in West Village, Detroit two months later. Today Village Parlor has grown into a destination for people all over the state and continues to raise the bar for beauty in the Midwest.
